SNC-Lavalin Nuclear’s Role: Design, construction, fabrication, procurement, installation and commissioning of the structures and equipment required to transfer used fuel from in-pool storage to dry storage in canisters as part of a joint venture with Aecon.
The project was managed in accordance with the CSA N286 Nuclear Quality Assurance standards and all engineering work was performed in accordance with Bruce Power's Engineering Change Control (ECC) program. SNC-Lavalin Nuclear also conducted safety analyses (criticality, radiation shielding etc.) preparing licensing documentation for submission to regulators and developing an Environment, Health and Safety program for the project.
