SNC-Lavalin Nuclear’s Role:
In 2004, SNC-Lavalin Nuclear (SLN) formed an alliance with AECL, Babcock & Wilcox, NSS and other groups to prepare an estimate and submit a proposal to Bruce Power for the refurbishment of Units 1 & 2. The study involved preparing the scope of work, the estimates, the overall project schedule, and a risk analysis. SLN was a key player in this process and had staff working at the plant. Subsequent to this exercise, SLN later bid and won two major contracts from Bruce Power.
